PROJECT DESCRIPTION

As part of the City of Mount Rainier’s ongoing efforts to revitalize and re-energize its downtown core, the Department of Economic Development proudly announces the launch of its newest mural arts project.

The City is seeking proposals for mural designs that will bring an inspiring design to the wall along 34th Street. The selected artist or muralist will receive $10,000 to bring their vision to life, with funding provided through the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development’s (DHCD) Main Street Improvement Program.

This initiative reflects Mount Rainier’s growing reputation as a thriving home for artists and public arts. The City recognizes the power of the arts in strengthening the local business environment, attracting visitors, and boosting economic activity.
