Project Description

Mount Rainier Streetscape Concept Plan

The Memorial Park Streetscape Project involves the Design and Build of the 3300‐3400 block of Rhode Island Avenue and Perry Street, Mount Rainier. Existing walkways and landscaping will be demolished to accommodate new concrete sidewalks, landscaping, bioretention areas, seat benches, brick paving, a stage area, a nature play area, site lighting, and miscellaneous sites.

The project is funded through the American Rescue Plan Act Grant ($1M), the Mayland Department of Housing and Community Development Grant ($200K), and the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority Grant ($100K).

The project was awarded to Usource Construction with the proposed price of $1,127,000. Construction began on July 24, 2023. 

Status 

Construction was completed in October 2024. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on March 28 to celebrate the completion of the project.
