I first moved to Mount Rainier in 2005 and permanently in 2010. I was appointed to the Environmental Protection Board, later the Green Team, becoming Chair in 2015. I successfully advocated for rolling recycling cans, native planting, and municipal climate action. After leaving the Green Team, I advocated for PGCPS to commit to clean energy goals, which led to a resolution committing to such goals being adopted unanimously by the Board of Education. I then co-chaired a workgroup that wrote a first-in-the-nation school Climate Change Action Plan, which was adopted unanimously in 2022.
For my day job, I work for the DC government, and prior to that, I worked for a regional group of state governments, the Ozone Transport Commission. I have a lovely wife, Emma, and two children.
If elected as your Ward 2 Councilmember, I will listen to you, build consensus, and advocate for sustainability, safety, and community.
