Jenny Hoffpauir moved to DC in 2005 for law school. After years of searching for community, she and her three children settled in Mount Rainier in 2019 because it was relatively affordable, socioeconomically and racially diverse, and bikeable to downtown DC. These same characteristics will shape Jenny’s work on the City Council: affordability, diversity, and sustainability.
Jenny has focused on creating community gatherings in Mount Rainier, including starting holiday cookie swaps, hosting a facilitated conversation about the Israel-Palestine conflict, and serving on the Recreation Committee. She also helps maintain the Food Forest and is working to revive the Tool Library.
Currently an attorney for a company that makes devices to treat cancer, Jenny’s career has included coaching executives, writing zoning codes, lobbying in Annapolis, and drafting business plans. She has volunteered her time for nonprofit boards, and is Vice Chair of Impact Silver Spring, a nonprofit focused on community organizing.
