The police department is actively recruiting individuals for the positions of Entry Level Police Officer / Candidate and Lateral Police Officer. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications and pass a complete background investigation.
Requirements to be a Police Officer
- Be 21 years old or older
- Be a United States citizen and submit documents supporting a claim of citizenship to this department
- Possess a high school diploma issued by a high school or recognized by the State Board of Education, GED, or equivalent
- Be eligible under federal and Maryland law to possess and use a handgun
- Be of good moral character
- Be free from any physical, emotional, or mental condition which might adversely affect the exercise of police powers
- Possess a valid driver's license
