  1. Parking Citation, Enforcement and Payment Procedures

View the City of Mount Rainier Ordinance. Section 13-119 Enforcement, and Appendix A Enforcement Fees is where you will locate fees associated with parking violations.

Payment for parking citations must be received within 30 days of the date of issuance. If the fine is not paid within 30 days, the amount shall double as follows:

  • 31 to 60 days: $60
  • 61 to 90 days: $120
  • 91days or more: $240

You may request a court date to dispute the parking citation by contacting the Mount Rainier Police Department Administrative Offices. Still, you must do so within 25 days of receiving the citation.

Failure to pay a citation or request a court date will result in your license plates being flagged, preventing registration renewal or transfer. Failure to pay citations will result in your vehicle being impounded per City Ordinance 13-106 Impoundment or Immobilization of a motor vehicle.

Per City Ordinance 9-107 Enforcement, a request to stand trial for the violation made after twenty-five (25) calendar days of issuance of the citation requires the posting of collateral with the city equal to the fine plus all late penalties.
