Sweaty Sweater Fun Run

The Sweaty Sweater Fun Run is a festive community tradition that brings together residents and visitors to celebrate the holiday season through fitness and fun. The event is organized and hosted by the Recreation Committee.

Participants are encouraged to show off their most creative and colorful holiday sweaters as they take part in either a 5K run or a 1-mile walk through Mount Rainier’s scenic streets. The event promotes health, wellness, and community spirit—inviting everyone to embrace the joy of the season while staying active.

Sweaty Sweater Fun Run 2025

Celebrate the holiday season with the City of Mount Rainier at Memorial Park! Enjoy complimentary hot apple cider, hot chocolate, coffee, and donuts before participating in our 5K run or 1-mile walk.

This family-friendly event welcomes children and dogs. As this is a non-timed event, participants are encouraged to enjoy the course at their own pace.

Medals will be awarded to the first 200 registered runners and walkers.

This event is free of charge.
