Mount Rainier Day: Celebrating 114 Years of Community Spirit

The City of Mount Rainier is excited to celebrate Mount Rainier Day, marking our 114th anniversary. Join us on Saturday, May 18, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Mount Rainier Nature Center for a day filled with fun and festivities. Rain or shine, we'll be celebrating together!

Mount Rainier Day Parade:

The festivities will kick off with a parade. Community members are invited to line the streets of downtown Mount Rainier to witness the parade, showcasing the creativity and spirit of our community.

Road Closures and Parking Restrictions:

To accommodate the parade, temporary road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect. Community members are advised to plan their travel accordingly. Parking will be restricted along the parade route, and temporary road closures will be implemented. We encourage attendees to utilize alternative transportation options and take advantage of the free shuttle service provided by the City.

Shuttle Service

To ensure convenient access to the celebration, the City will provide a free shuttle service from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The shuttle will stop at various locations throughout Mount Rainier, including City Hall, Joe’s Movement Emporium, Thomas Stone Elementary School, and apartment communities.

  • Mount Rainier Nature Center

Street Festival

Attendees can look forward to an array of activities for all ages, including:

  • Shopping at 70 vendor booths offering a diverse selection of goods, food, and information.
  • Family-friendly attractions - climbing wall, moonbounce, and arts and crafts.

Entertainment Lineup:

The entertainment stage will feature an exciting lineup of performers, including:

  • Community Jamboree at 12:15 PM
  • Sol Y Rumba at 1:15 PM
  • Positive Vibrations Youth Steel Band at 2:30 PM
  • Black Rain Band at 3:30 PM

Mount Rainier Day is a celebration of community spirit and the unique character of Mount Rainier City. We invite all residents, visitors, and friends to come together for a day of joy, camaraderie, and appreciation for our City.
