City of Mount Rainier to Host Unidos and Public Safety Night on Saturday, October 4

Mount Rainier News Posted on October 03, 2025

The City of Mount Rainier invites residents and neighbors to a full day of culture, community, and public safety on Saturday, October 4, 2025, with two special events: Unidos, a Latino Heritage Month Celebration, and the City of Mount Rainier Police Department’s Public Safety Night.

In partnership with Joe’s Movement Emporium, Unidos begins at 3:00 p.m. outside Joe’s Movement Emporium. As part of Mount Rainier’s Latino Heritage Month celebration, Unidos will feature live performances, storytelling, kids' activities, and community resources that showcase the city’s cultural richness and diversity.

To support the celebration, Bunker Hill Road between 33rd Street and 34th Street will be closed from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on October 4. Residents and visitors are encouraged to plan and use alternate routes.

At 5:00 p.m., the City of Mount Rainier Police Department will host Public Safety Night at the Mount Rainier Nature Center. The event will include K-9 demonstrations, emergency vehicle tours, hands-on safety activities, and plenty of free food and games for all ages. Guests will also have the chance to meet officers, firefighters, and EMTs who serve the city—and the City’s new Chief of Police, Katherine Perez, and Assistant Chief Andre Williams. Public Safety Night offers an engaging and interactive way to learn about public safety while connecting with our local first responders.

Unidos and Public Safety Night reflect Mount Rainier’s dedication to community building through both cultural celebration and public safety engagement. All are encouraged to attend, bring family and friends, and take part in this day of unity, learning, and celebration.
