Energy Bill Assistance Available to Maryland Residents

Mount Rainier News Posted on July 22, 2025

Maryland residents can get help with energy bills through the Maryland State and Pepco’s bill assistance programs. The Maryland Energy Assistance Program (MEAP/LIHEAP) offers one-time grants of up to $750 to help cover utility costs—no repayment is required. Customers do not need to be behind on bills to qualify.  Also, the Pepco Customer Relief Fund offers eligible customers up to $300 in relief, applied directly to their Pepco account. To apply for the state’s program, visit the Maryland Department of Human Services Office of Home Energy website. For Pepco’s relief program, go to pepco.com/ReliefMD
