Mural Project on Rhode Island Avenue in Progress
(July 10, 2025) The Mount Rainier Arts Commission’s Mural Project is currently underway at 3510 Rhode Island Avenue, led by the talented 3711 Studios Artist Collective under the direction of artist Austin Morris. The vibrant design is actively being brought to life by artists working on-site. Inspired by input from Mount Rainier community members, the mural reflects themes of movement, nature, and togetherness, encouraging reflection, connection, and a sense of place.
The Arts Commission launched the mural initiative in February of this year as part of a broader effort to revitalize the downtown area and expand public art in the city.
Following a competitive design submission process, the proposal from 3711 Studios was selected from among several outstanding entries.
This mural is one of several projects aimed at enhancing the visual landscape of Mount Rainier while celebrating the city’s unique identity and community spirit.
