The City of Mount Rainier will begin construction on the Intersection Improvement Project at 31st Street and Perry Street starting Monday, May 5, 2025, with an anticipated completion date of May 31, 2025, weather permitting. The work will be conducted by D&F Construction. 

Project Highlights:

• Reconfiguration of traffic patterns to enhance safety and traffic flow
• Installation of stormwater management features to reduce runoff and erosion 

This improvement project was designed by Consultants, Low Impact Development Center (LIDC), and IDesign and is funded through a $530,000 State Legislative Bond.

Prior to construction, the City hosted a series of Community Conversations at the project site to gather public input and provide project updates.

The project is under the oversight of the City Manager. 

During the project, parking restrictions and interruptions to traffic flow will occur at times.
