The City of Mount Rainier Mayor and Council have officially approved the Fiscal Year 2026 Budget Calendar, which outlines key activities and dates for a well-organized budget process. The budget process involves a complete financial plan for the 2026 fiscal year which begins on July 1, 2025, and ends on June 30, 2026, and includes anticipated revenues and proposed expenditures.  

The City encourages the public to participate in the budget process by attending public hearings. The public’s participation is integral to shaping sound financial decisions that impact Mount Rainier.

Key Dates to Remember

• February 18, 2025: The City Manager will present the proposed budget to the Mayor and Council during a work session. This initial presentation is a vital step in setting financial priorities for the upcoming fiscal year.
• March 22, 2025: A public hearing on the proposed budget will provide residents to provide feedback and insights.
