The City of Mount Rainier is committed to supporting its residents through community programs designed to enhance the quality of life and ensure the safety and longevity of homes within the city. As part of this commitment, the City launched its Home Repair Program in 2023, offering grants of up to $7,500 to assist eligible households with essential home repairs and improvements.
Since the program’s launch, 11 households have already benefited from the funding, completing much-needed projects such as bathroom renovations, roof repairs, tree removal, and exterior improvements. These projects have not only enhanced the living conditions of individual households but have also contributed to the overall beautification and safety of our community.
Program Details and Eligibility
The Home Repair Program is available to qualified households that meet the eligibility requirements. The program aims to address essential home repairs that improve both the safety and functionality of homes. Examples of eligible repairs include:
- Roof & siding
- Chimney
- Windows & doors
- Sidewalks & driveways
- Floors, steps, porches, bathrooms, kitchens, and more
- Accessibility-related repairs, such as ramps and handrails
- Foundation and structural work, including waterproofing
- Tree removal and replacement
- Bamboo removal
Application Deadline: October 25, 2024
