Valerie Woodall Officially Sworn In as Councilmember of Ward II

(City of Mount Rainier, MD) -  The City of Mount Rainier has a new council member. Valerie Woodall was officially sworn in as Councilmember of Ward II on Monday, May 2 at City Hall. 

The swearing-in ceremony was officiated by the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Prince George's County Court House and witnessed by Woodall's family, Mayor and Council, District 47 Elected Officials, PGCPCS Board of Education, Mount Rainier Board of Elections, City Manager, and City staff.

Valerie Woodall will be bringing into the Council her experience in community building, organizing, and coaching. She recently served 3 years as the Mount Rainier Elementary School PTO Grounds Committee Chair. Councilmember Woodall will be pushing for smart public policy and systems that work, strong ethics, and public trust in government.

Woodall was elected through the Special Election held on April 25. She will be serving in the City Council until the next general election in May 2023.
