Dear Mount Rainier Community,
The City invites you to participate in the Mount Rainier Vision Zero Task Force. The purpose of the
Task Force is to oversee the development and implementation of a Vision Zero Action Plan for the City of
Mount Rainier. Vision Zero is an approach to traffic safety that aims to eliminate fatal and serious injury
crashes through a comprehensive approach that includes street design modifications, policy changes,
and other measures.
The Task Force will meet three times between March and May of this year and will continue meeting
periodically after the Action Plan is adopted. The Vision Zero Action Plan will build on work completed
last fall by our Consultant, Toole Design, and will help position the City for Federal funding through the
Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A).
