City of Mount Rainier, Brentwood, and North Brentwood Unite to Celebrate Juneteenth

Three Prince George’s County municipalities are uniting to celebrate Juneteenth. The City of Mount Rainier and the towns of Brentwood and North Brentwood will be holding a Unity Walk on Saturday, June 18 to show solidarity and reinforce its commitment to liberty and justice for all.

A flag-raising ceremony will be held in each town to kick off the celebration before walking together to Prince George’s African Museum. The City of Mount Rainier will hold its flag-raising ceremony at 11 a.m. and will march with Brentwood and North Brentwood to Prince George's African American Museum.

After a short program at the Prince George’s African American Museum, everyone’s encouraged to join the community of North Brentwood, the First African American incorporated City in Maryland to Celebrate North Brentwood Day at 2 p.m.
