On Monday, April 25, 2022, registered voters of ward 2 will be heading to the polls to elect the next council member who will fill the vacant legislative seat due to the resignation of former Councilmember Scott Cecil and the Charter Change adopted by the Mayor and Council on January 4, 2022 Legislative Meeting.
The Mount Rainier Board of Elections (MRBOE), consisting of volunteer residents will oversee the election process.
The MRBOE encourages registered voters to vote in the City Elections. “For the voters, it is so important we turn out because our government starts at the city, it starts with local municipalities and the people who represent us within the city level,” MRBOE Supervisor Nichole Logan said in an interview with Prince George's County Television's CTV News.
The Board also answered frequently asked questions for this year’s Special Election.
