Reminder: Mosquito Spraying in City of Mount Rainier and surrounding area tonight after 7:30pm

The Maryland Department of Agriculture will be conducting truck-based mosquito spraying tonight after 7:30pm due to a public health concern over the potential for mosquito-borne diseases.

Please avoid outdoor activities and bring pets indoors if you are in the areas affected.

The streets that will be sprayed tonight in Mount Rainier and its surrounding cities are marked in red and include:

  • 36th & 37th Streets between Shepherd and Bunker Hill Rd.
  • 35th St between Shepherd and Rhode Island Ave.
  • Bunker Hill between 34th and 37th going toward Brentwood
  • 37th St between Rhode Island Ave. and Perry St.
  • Shepherd between 35th and 37th going toward Brentwood

In the event of inclement weather, mosquito spraying will be rescheduled for the next available evening.
 
 Please note: The Maryland Department of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Prince George’s County Health Department, has the authority to determine what areas are chosen for mosquito control activities. The Department of Agriculture temporarily suspended the City of Mount Rainier's exemption to implement tonight's mosquito spraying.
