8/1 - Recovered stolen vehicle - 4500 block of 31st Street

On Sunday August 01, 2021, at approximately 1435 hours, officers came into contact with a vehicle that was stolen out of Montgomery County. The vehicle was returned to the owner after processing.

8/2- Unknown Trouble / Criminal Citation – 2300 blk of Varnum St

On 08/02/2021, at approximately 2213 hours, officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Varnum Street on the report of a female screaming from the inside of a vehicle. Officers arrived and located the vehicle but without a female present. The driver of the vehicle was advised the reason for police presence. The driver was also cited for an open alcoholic container.

8/2 - Accident / Impound – 34th and Rhode Island Ave

On August 2nd, 2021, at approximately 0236 hours, officers on routine patrol observed a vehicle that had just crashed and landed upside-down at the traffic circle at Rhode Island Ave at 34th street Mount Rainier MD. Upon arrival officers discovered the vehicle on its roof unoccupied. The occupants were outside of the vehicle and a male later identified as the driver of the vehicle stated that he was driving and had fallen asleep.

8/3 - Stolen Auto - 30th Street and Allison St

On 8-03-2021, at approximately 9:38 pm, officers were dispatched to 30th Street and Allison Street, Mount Rainier, Maryland, 20712, for a report of a stolen vehicle.

8/3 - Traffic Stop with an Impound- 3200 Blk of Queens Chapel Road

On 08-03-2021 at 01:05 Pm, officers were on patrol in the area of Chillum Road and Queens Chapel Road, when they observed a black vehicle in motion with dark tint. Officer stopped the vehicle, and it was revealed the driver did not possess a valid drivers license from any state. The vehicle was impounded by officers at this time.

8/3 - Impound - 46oo block of 30th Street

On August 3rd, 2021, at approximately 2302 Hours, officers were dispatched to the 4600 block of 30th Street Mount Rainier for a report of a vehicle blocking a driveway of a residence. Officers observed the blocking vehicle and attempted to locate the owner with negative results. The vehicle was subsequently impounded.

8/4 - Assault - 46oo block of 27th St

On August 4, 2021, at approximately 0106 Hours, officers were dispatched to 4600 block of 27th Street Mount Rainier MD 20712 for a report of unknown trouble. Officers arrived and learned that a female victim was assaulted by a male subject while in a vehicle. Investigation is ongoing.

8/4 - Attempted Robbery- 4300 block of 29th Street

On 08-04-2021, at approximately 12:28 pm, officers were dispatched to 4300 block of 29th Street, Mount Rainier, Maryland, 20712, for a report of an attempted citizen robbery. Male subjects attempted to rob a delivery driver but were unsuccessful.

8/5 - Non-Contact Shooting/ Brief Pursuit - Chillum Rd and Queens town Dr

On 8/5/21 at approximately 2109 hours while patrolling the area of Chillum Road and Queenstown Drive, Mount Rainier, Maryland 20712 officers heard multiple shots of rapid fire in the area of Chauncey Place and Queenstown Drive. Officers were able to track the vehicle and later recover the vehicle used. Suspects have been identified and investigation is ongoing.

8/6 - Theft from Auto - 4300 block Russell Ave

On 8/6/21 at 0905 hours officers responded to 4300 block of Russell Ave in Mt. Rainier MD for a theft from auto report. Owner reported the rear license plate had been removed from the vehicle.

8/6 -Theft From Auto – 3200 block Queens Chapel Rd

On August 6th, 2021 at approximately 0650 Hours Officers were advised of a theft from auto that had taken place. It was reported that unknown persons entered the vehicle of the reporting person while they were paying for gas and removed her purse. Some of the victims belongings were found in a different area later on. Investigation pending.

8/6 - EPS- 3800 block 34th st

On August 6th, 2021 at approximately 2334 hours Officers were dispatched to 3827 34th street Mount Rainier MD for a report of unknown male breaking in to a vehicle. Officers located a male passed out on the ground to the rear of the address. It was unknown if the male was high or intoxicated. The male attempted to rush at officers several times during the encounter and while walking away from EMTs who were called to the scene, the male fell to the ground and was unresponsive. The male was transported to a nearby medical facility to be assessed and cared for.
