October is Domestic Violence and Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The City of Mount Rainier is helping raise awareness about domestic violence and breast cancer by wearing pink and purple. Mayor Celina Benitez and City staff support public awareness campaigns that highlight the attention to domestic violence and breast cancer and envision a world with zero domestic violence cases and free of breast cancer.
In Prince George’s County, the County government held events and programs in October to educate residents about breast cancer and provide support to breast cancer patients and survivors through its campaign, “Prince George’s Goes Pink."
Prince George’s County’s Family Justice Center, an initiative of the County Court, provides comprehensive array of services including support for domestic violence survivors.
