The City Manager prepares the agenda and posts it a City Hall by 6 pm of the Friday preceding the regular Tuesday meeting. Minutes are available following approval.

The Charter of Mount Rainier provides that the Mayor and Council abide by the rules and procedures for meetings. Open meeting rules must be in accordance with the provisions of the Annotated Code of Maryland, State Government Article, Section 10-507 (b).
The City of Mount Rainier's legislative body is comprised of the Mayor and City Council. They are each elected to four-year terms. The four-member Council consists of two representatives from each of the two wards in the City. Half the council members are elected every two years.
