The Mount Rainier Police Department affirms that community policing is at the foundation of our organization. Every day your officers spend at minimum an hour out of their vehicles walking in neighborhoods, the commercial district, and in the schools to build relationships with the residents we serve. One of our core goals is to treat every citizen with dignity and respect. We believe in working with our residents to solve problems and keep our city a great place to live.
While we are seeking a dedicated community policing officer every employee up to and including the Chief of Police is engaged in community policing. We believe in partnering with civic organizations, faith based organizations, and others to improve relationships, create a sense of transparency, and foster constructive dialogue on a range of issues. Throughout this page you will find some of our policies, a citizen survey from the Department of Justice, a complaint form and other information.
