Join the Newton Street Project Community Conversation on September 28, 2024

The Newton Street Project (between 34th and 37th Street) is scheduled to begin construction in October. It aims to transform Newton Street into a green street that harmonizes innovative environmental design with the needs of our community. To discuss this initiative, a Community Conversation will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 10 AM to 12 PM at the intersection of Newton St. and Newton Pl.

Designed by the Low Income Development Center (LIDC) and funded through the American Relief Program Act (ARPA), the Project will incorporate key elements such as the construction of sidewalk improvements, street, and storm drain improvements, stormwater best management practices, landscaping, and speed tables. These features are intended to enhance our neighborhood's safety and sustainability.

The City invites all residents to participate in this conversation, learn more about the project, ask questions, and share their feedback. Community involvement is essential to the success of this project, helping to make our City an even better place to live.
