Prince George's County Stay at Home Order Extended to June 1

Post Date:05/14/2020 5:26 PM

As of May 14, 2020, the Stay at Home order for Prince George’s County has been extended to June 1 by County Executive Angela Alsobrooks. Non-essential businesses will remain closed to the public and everyone should continue to practice social distancing.

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan announced Wednesday that the state would enter Phase I of the easing of COVID-19 restrictions on Friday, May 16 at 5 p.m., but added that counties could make their own decisions about whether to take that step based on their case numbers. As COVID-19 case counts and hospitalizations continue to increase within the county, the County Executive has made the decision to extend the Stay at Home order.

As the situation continues to evolve, the City will update the public as necessary. Please visit the City’s website (www.mountrainiermd.org), and follow the City’s social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram) for the latest and most up-to-date City news and information.
