City of Mount Rainier to Host Veterans Day Flag Ceremony and Brunch

The City will honor its veterans with a special Veterans Day Flag Ceremony and Brunch on Tuesday, November 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the City of Mount Rainier Police Department Community Room. The celebration will recognize and show appreciation for the veterans residing in the City. Dr. Tiffany Daniel, a 26-year Army veteran, bestselling author, fitness instructor, talk show host, senior information specialist, and tireless advocate for veterans’ wellness, will serve as this year’s featured speaker. Dr. Daniel previously delivered an inspiring address at last year’s event and returns to share her insights and experiences with the community.

The City’s curbside leaf collection begins Tuesday, November 4th, starting with the Red Zone. This year’s schedule will be announced one week in advance for each area, allowing our Public Works Department crew to support ongoing city projects while keeping services on track. Learn more.

The City of Mount Rainier Recreation Committee is accepting applications for the Recreation Activities Grant, offering up to $2,500 in reimbursable funds to organizations and community members who wish to host programs, activities, or events that engage Mount Rainier residents. From sports and arts to environmental activities, this grant supports initiatives that enhance community life and bring people together. Programs must be open to residents within the city’s boundaries and promote greater community engagement. Community members are invited to donate new and gently used winter coats, along with new socks and mittens, at the City of Mount Rainier Police Department for its annual Coat Drive. All collected items will be distributed to local families and individuals facing hardship.
