Prioritizing Public Safety: Mount Rainier Police Department Leadership Update

The City of Mount Rainier values the safety of all residents and public safety is of utmost importance.  

As a result, it is important to update the community about a transition in leadership in our police department. Leading the City’s Police Department will be Acting Chief Andre Williams. 

With over 26 years of experience serving the Mount Rainier Police Department, Acting Chief Williams is community-focused and is the steady hand we need at this moment to continue to keep our city safe.  

Residents will see no decrease in the level of service or patrol, as Acting Chief Andre Williams has already stepped into the role, and National Night Out was a great success.  

Community safety and engagement will continue to be at the center of our City’s focus, including within the police department. The City thanks Acting Chief Williams for stepping up and our entire Police Department for their dedicated service to the City.
