The City invites residents to participate in the budget process by attending upcoming public meetings. February 18, 2025 – The City Manager will present the proposed budget to the Mayor and Council during a work session, setting financial priorities for the next fiscal year. March 22, 2025 – A public hearing on the proposed budget gives residents the opportunity to share feedback and insights.

The Mount Rainier Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is hosting a free Narcan Training on Thursday, February 6th, from 6 PM to 7 PM at the Bunker Hill Fire Station. This training provides participants with the skills to safely administer Narcan, a critical tool in reversing opioid overdoses. The training will be administered by the Prince George’s County Health Department.

The City of Mount Rainier's street tree maintenance will begin on Monday, February 10, weather permitting, as part of ongoing efforts to maintain the health of city trees and ensure safe clearance over streets, sidewalks, driveways, and homes. The Mount Rainier City Elections will take place on May 5, 2025. This year, three seats will be up for election: Mayor, Councilmember Ward 1, and Councilmember Ward 2.
