CITY DISTRIBUTES 500 THANKSGIVING FOOD BASKETS

The spirit of Thanksgiving came alive in Mount Rainier as city staff and volunteers came together to prepare 500 Thanksgiving baskets for the annual distribution program. This initiative ensures that Mount Rainier families can enjoy a festive holiday meal during the season. Mayor Celina Benitez led the distribution and delivery of the baskets to residents, local schools, and senior communities. Thank you to all the volunteers, teachers, and community members for your dedication to making this year’s distribution a success.

REGISTER NOW FOR THE SWEATY SWEATER FUN RUN!

Get ready to kick off the holiday season with a healthy dose of fun at the 2nd Mount Rainier Sweaty Sweater Fun Run sponsored by the Recreation Committee! Join the fun at the starting line by Mount Rainier Elementary (32nd Street) on December 7th at 9 AM. Choose between a 5K run or a 1-mile walk – perfect for all ages, dogs included!

Wear your favorite holiday sweater, and warm up with hot cider, hot chocolate, coffee, and donuts before hitting the course. This is a no-pressure, untimed event – so bring your friends, family, and even your furry pals for a festive morning!

All participants receive a medal.

WINTER COAT DRIVE

The City’s Social Services is collecting new and gently used winter clothes, mittens, hats, and new socks to support community members in need. Donations can be dropped off at the Mount Rainier Police Department, located at 3249 Rhode Island Avenue, Mount Rainier, from Monday to Friday, between 10 AM and 4 PM. Your contributions can make a big difference
