NATIONAL NIGHT OUT

The City of Mount Rainier will be joining neighborhoods across the nation for the annual National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6th. The Mount Rainier Police Department invites community members to come together for a fun night with our police officers at the Mount Rainier Nature Center, from 5 pm to 8 pm. Celebrate police-community partnerships and build a safer Mount Rainier while enjoying free food, music, and games.

SUPPORT THE BACK TO SCHOOL FAIR, DONATE TODAY

Support the City of Mount Rainier’s Back to School Fair. Donate school supplies like backpacks and uniforms to the Social Services Coordinator's office by August 20th. Let's help our students succeed! On August 21st, community members are invited to head over to the Mount Rainier Nature Center for the Back-to-School Fair for free school supplies, hair-cut vouchers, and gently used clothing (while supplies last).

Be part of the celebration on Mount Rainier Day on September 7 at the Mount Rainier Nature Center, from 11 am to 5 pm! Join this year’s parade and showcase your community pride! The City is still accepting applications for parade entries including local and cultural groups, businesses, organizations, and marching bands.

Maryland Office of Tourism visits City of Mount Rainier

Mayor Celina Benitez and City Manager Kourosh Kamali hosted members of the Maryland Department of Commerce's Office of Tourism along with Greenwill Consulting Group in Mount Rainier. The discussion focused on the Potts Hall Welcome Center, a pivotal City project expected to boost the local economy and serve as a gateway to Maryland from Washington, D.C. Historic Potts Hall, one of Mount Rainier's oldest structures, is currently under construction. The city is actively seeking additional resources and funding to complete this important project.

Due to extreme heat conditions in our region, the Mount Rainier Tree Commission asks community members to help young trees thrive by watering them. Young trees require regular and deep watering to develop roots to withstand prolonged periods without rain.
