Thunderstorms and Flooding Announcement

The National Weather Service has issued as Hazardous Weather Outlook for the area and a Flash Flood Watch is in effect Friday July 28 through Saturday afternoon. The Mount Rainier Department of Public Works has been preparing for the storm. The State of Maryland is monitoring the conditions with the national Weather Service and we do not anticipate initiating emergency operations.

To report fallen trees or flooding, please contact Mount Rainier Public Works Maintenance Supervisor, Leroy Sammy, at 240-508-0679.

To report clogged stormdrain inlets please call Prince George’s County Information Center by dialing 311.

In case of emergency please call 911. To contact the police for a non-emergency, call 301-985-6565.
