Alley Cat Rescue Inc
ACR is dedicated to the well-being and welfare of all cats: domestic,
stray, feral and wild. TNR- (trap-neuter-return) is a nonlethal solution
to ending euthanasia in shelters by ending the overpopulation of feral
cats. ACR also rescues, sterilizes, and places stray, domestic (friendly)
cats and kittens.

Friends of the Mount Rainier Library
(FOL)
The Friends of the Mount Rainier Library (FOL) is a volunteer advocacy group
for the Mount Rainier Public Library working to bring a new library to the
community.
Gays and Lesbians of Mount Rainier (GLMR)
Started in September of 1996, this is a social group for gay
men, lesbians, and friends in the Mount Rainier area. Meets quarterly for
a potluck brunch (usually in Mount Rainier or nearby homes). The events usually
draw about 12 to 20 attendees. For more information, contact: glmrmd@aol.com.
Joe’s Movement Emporium
Joe’s Movement Emporium is the community performing
arts center of World Arts Focus, a 501(c)(3) tax exempt charitable organization
that brings artists and community members together to enjoy the arts,
experience performances, and encourage the preservation of performance
traditions. Since opening in 1995, Joe’s has provided year-round arts
education, daily classes for adults, community events, performances
and provides rehearsal space to more than 25 professional artist groups.
Latin American Folk Institute
The Latin American Folk Institute (LAFI) is a non-profit organization
dedicated to promoting the art, music and folklore of Latin America
and the Caribbean region. LAFI partners with organizations and professional
instructors to provide affordable art, music and dance classes to under-served
members of the community. Using the arts as a vehicle to inspire cross-cultural
understanding, LAFI makes the rich cultural heritage of the Americas
accessible to everyone via educational and cultural programs.

Mount Rainier Business Association
Mount Rainier Business District Revitalization Association, Inc. (AKA
Mount Rainier Business Association, MRBA) was founded to help with the
revitalization of the Mount Rainier Business District. For further information
call Sam Reynolds, President at 301-240-2299. Meetings of MRBA (Executive
Board meetings and General Membership meetings) are held at the Mount
Rainier Police Station on the second (2nd) Wednesday of each month at
6:30pm.
Mount Rainier Community Tool Shed
The Mount Rainier Community Tool Shed is a collection of hand and power
tools that can be used at no cost by residents, businesses, and community
groups of Mount Rainier, Maryland to help improve their property.
