Assistant City Manager Michael D. Jackson has been employed with the City of Mount Rainier, Maryland, since September of 2007. Prior to coming to Mount Rainier, Assistant City Manager Jackson served as Operations Manager with the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Controls, Alexandria Division. As Operations Manager, he was responsible for special projects development, operations management and recruitment. He has also worked as a Retail Operations Manager with CVS Pharmacy, Bridgestone/Firestone and Fasmart Stores of Richmond, Virginia. In total, Assistant City Manager Jackson has over 10 years of supervisory experience in human resources and operations management. Assistant City Manager Jackson received his BA in Sociology, with a minor in Administration of Justice, from Virginia State University in 1998. He is currently pursuing a MBA from the University of Maryland.

Assistant City Manager Jackson was born and raised in Petersburg, Virginia. He is a father of two and a resident of Mount Rainier.
